Project Journey

Transforming a community vision into a vibrant recreational destination.

Working alongside Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation, MK PMC managed every stage of the Community Splash Park project—from concept development and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover—creating a safe, inclusive space for the community to enjoy for years to come.

Vision

Working closely with Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation and key stakeholders, we established the project vision, defined community priorities and developed a delivery strategy that reflects the needs of the community.

Planning

We coordinated design development, consultant engagement and procurement activities to ensure the project was well planned before construction commenced.

Delivery (Current Stage)

MK PMC is currently overseeing construction, coordinating contractors and consultants, managing project risks and monitoring progress to ensure the project continues to meet quality, safety and programme objectives.

Community

As construction progresses, planning is already underway for commissioning, operational readiness and the final handover to ensure the facility is ready for safe community use upon completion.

Supporting Community Health and Safety

A key feature of the project is the integration of advanced UV filtration technology and automated water quality management systems.

These systems are designed to assist in maintaining high water quality standards by reducing harmful microorganisms and supporting safe recreational use.

Combined with controlled disinfection processes and ongoing monitoring systems, the facility has been designed with community health, safety and sustainability at the forefront.

MK PMC's Role

MK PMC is providing project management and contract administration services throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, stakeholder engagement, program management, contract administration and project governance.

Working closely with the client, consultants and contractors, MK PMC continues to support the successful delivery of the project while ensuring quality, compliance and community outcomes remain central to decision-making.

Expected Community Impact

Once completed, the splash park will provide a new destination for recreation, connection and community engagement.

The facility is expected to:

  • Encourage outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles
  • Create opportunities for social connection and community gatherings
  • Provide a safe and inclusive recreational environment
  • Support community wellbeing
  • Deliver a long-term asset that will benefit future generations

Building More Than Infrastructure

The Community Splash Park represents more than a recreational facility.

It reflects a shared commitment to investing in community wellbeing, creating opportunities for connection and delivering infrastructure that will continue to benefit the community long after construction is complete.

Through thoughtful planning, stakeholder collaboration and a focus on long-term outcomes, the project embodies MK PMC's philosophy of Building More Than Infrastructure.
